Language Switcher

Built-in Widget

Verbi includes a floating language switcher widget that is injected into every translated page. It shows the current language and opens a dropdown listing all available languages. Clicking a language navigates to the equivalent page in that language.

The widget is enabled by default. You can toggle it and set its position from Settings → Behaviour.

Position options:

  • Bottom right (default)
  • Bottom left

The widget is only injected on translated pages — it does not appear on your root domain unless a visitor is already on a translated URL.

Building Your Own

If you prefer to design your own language selector — to match your site's branding, place it in the header, or build it with your site builder's own components — you can disable the built-in widget and build your own.

Turn off the widget in Settings → Behaviour → Language switcher widget.

To link to a translated version of a page, use the language code as a subdirectory prefix:

text
/fr/ → French homepage
/fr/pricing → French pricing page
/de/about → German about page

The pattern is always /{lang-code}/{path}. To link to the same page in a different language, take the current path and swap the language prefix:

text
Current page: /fr/pricing
German: /de/pricing
Japanese: /ja/pricing

For a full list of supported language codes, see Languages.
